Independence Day at The 1 House

Traditionally, on the Fourth of July, the First Ward Community Fund provides lunch for the crew on duty at Fire Station One. This year’s feast was provided thanks to the Community Fund and generous donations from Reid’s Fine Foods and Harris Teeter. Once again, the Station was open to neighborhood residents for tours.

Bob Szymkiewicz spent the afternoon at the station and enjoyed lunch with the group. He relayed our appreciation for the work the Charlotte Fire Department does each and every day.

Each year, on Independence Day, Station One is open to neighbors for tours. Several took advantage and the children who visited had a great time. Both the firefighters and the neighbors had an enjoyable day.

In the evening most people were celebrating with friends and family. And while they were enjoying the Uptown Sky Show the crew of the One House was at work ensuring that nothing went wrong and we were safe. From First Ward to Station One we say well done and thank you.
